We have tested this website with a range of different assistive technologies such as screen-readers as well as speech-activation software.

Features

Examples of accessibility features that can be found on this website include, but are not limited to:

• Colors that contrast well with each other
• The ability to resize text without loss of meaning
• Flexible page layouts when zoomed or resized in the browser
• Correctly coded headings so that there is a logical document outline that can be read and understood by screen-reader users
• Meaningful links and buttons that explain what the users can expect when they click on them. We avoid the usage of ‘click here’
• Well-formed tables with summaries that improve understanding
• Fully labelled interactive elements (like buttons and form fields) that can be fully accessed by a keyboard and follow a logical tab sequence
• Images with alternative text (where appropriate) that can be read by screen-reader users, or available if they don’t properly load due to a bad internet connection
• Good focus indication to give clarity when navigating via a keyboard
• Page ‘regions’ in the code to provide context of the page layout for screen-reader users.
• ‘Skip links’ to jump to the main content of the page for those people using a keyboard
• Transcripts and audio description (if enabled) on all videos, so audio is not relied upon
